This site has a large collection of free on-line games that students can access at home or in the school. Some of the games are math related, and are accessible through the “Math Games” links. Users may find them similar to popular video games such as “Tetris” which challenges children to using geometric transformations, in other words, flips, slides and rotations. The site does have a “curriculum guide” for teachers that designates which games emphasize particular skills. However, the games themselves do not provide this information.
Teachers and parents should also be aware that the sight has some advertising panes, so very young children may be tempted to click on those links that lead off the website. Also, the games use a variety of formats, Flash, Java, etc., that would require additional downloads. However, if you do not have those add-ons, the site will prompt users to link to downloadable versions.
