Interactive Math Tools

The spreadsheet and grapher tool can be configured using parameters supplied to the applet to meet different educational goals. The following table provides a brief description of the more important options. Please contact us for additional information or to make recommendations for future tool development.

Parameter Values Description

EDIT 0, false, 1, true Disables the function window and data window. Useful if you want to show graphical information without showing the source.

NP 0, 1, 2, or 3 Sets the number of parameters and corresponding sliders. If 0, the parameter and slider portion of the applet is not shown.

POINTS Integer Number of points to plot. If not supplied, approximately 200 points are used across the viewing ranging.

STEP Real Number Step size to use when plotting point by point.

XMIN, XMAX, YMIN, YMAX Real Numbers Sets the default viewing window.

AUTORANGE 0, false, 1, true Turns the auto range feature on/off.

FN1, FN2, ... Symbolic Expression Allows the expressions to be pre-entered for the functions to graph.

PLOTON Plot Number Turns on a plot at start up.

Real number These parameters set the initial information about the parameter. The label can be used to change the visible name, but 'a' must still be used in the expression. AMIN and AMAX sets the range while "A" sets the initial value.

WINDOW 0, false, 1, true Disables the window option. Useful if you need to fix the viewing window.

ROWS Integer Number of Rows to show in Data window

COLS Integer Number of Columns to show in Data Window

AUTOLOAD 0, 1 Determines if supplied sample data file is automatically loaded

SAMPLE string Filename of Sample Data File

URLBASE string URL base for sample data files

FILE string Filename to store data in. Currently only one data file is permitted.
