    Grade: High School

    Discover and explore Euler's Line.

    Activity

    Instructions

    How to Use

Use the red points to adjust Triangle ABC.

    Buttons

    • The buttons are meant to be shown sequentially.
      • The Show/Hide Distances and Show/Hide Lengths will provide measurements that can be toggled on and off.
    • At any time, you can press the Reset button to start over.

    Exploration

Before using any of the buttons, explore the following:

    • How many points of concurrency does a triangle have? What are they, and how do you construct them?
      • Is it possible for any of these points to live outside of the triangle?
      • If possible, when are two or more of these points in the same location?
      • What is/are the relationship(s) between the measurements of these points, if any?

    • Geometry / Measurement
    • Functions and Trigonometry
    • Understand that by similarity, side ratios in right triangles are properties of the angles in the triangle, leading to definitions of trigonometric ratios for acute angles.
