Illuminations is designed to provide preK-12 teachers and math educators online interactive Standards-based resources that improve the teaching and learning of mathematics for all students; and to provide materials that illuminate the vision for school mathematics set forth in Principles and Standards for School Mathematics and Common Core State Standards of Mathematics.

Student materials such as downloadable activity sheets may be reproduced by individual prek-12 educators in a quantity not greater than the class size, provided they are used only for non-commercial, classroom and instructional use and appropriately credited to Illuminations and NCTM. It is acceptable to place one or more links to Illuminations on a personal or school computer site for non-commercial, not-for-profit, educational use without express permission, provided the identity of the linked content as Illuminations content is clearly discernable to users of the link.
