Pre-K-2
Identify characteristics of triangles, manipulate electronic geoboards
to construct triangles, and name the triangles’ relative locations.
Pre-K-2
Build skills for
measuring with non-standard units and describing, naming, interpreting,
and representing relative positions in space.
3-5
Students are introduced to some of the basic polyhedra. Students explore the shapes of the faces of these solids.
9-12
In this lesson students use sidewalk chalk and rope to illustrate the locus definitions of ellipses and parabolas. Kinesthetics, teamwork, and problem solving are stressed as students take on the role of focus, directrix, and point on the conic, and figure out how to construct the shape.
